So… we decided to reimagine meditation. After spending time online so many of the meditations we came across felt dated and unrelatable. This was when @aliveandstill was born. So, I picked up the phone to @dark_e_r and we decided to get in to the studio. She created the soundscape and I wrote and voiced the track. We then spoke to @benkiibeku who created the graphics.

It’s taken time to build and the platform has become way bigger than I imagined at first. It was started initially to help musicians to find more balance but after launching in February, it seems there was a bigger plan in place. None of us could have predicted the scale of what lay ahead.

With twice as many adults in Britain reporting symptoms of depression compared with this time last year, we decided that something had to be done.

‘A Space to Breathe Meditation’ is the first in a series of guided meditations released at the beginning of every month and delivered direct to your inbox. Each track will teach you how to reconnect with your breath and encourage you to find ever important space in your day.

It’s January and the start of a new year, it’s the perfect time to reset and dedicate time and energy to connecting with something new. Now, light your favourite candle, connect your comfiest headphones, find a cosy corner and press play…

Made In LDN x Today At Apple

As the world stopped & lockdown paused our industry, we decided to create a programme for young artists across the U.K. to learn and to grow so once our world began to move again, they were ready to fly.

I felt so blessed to work on a project where I was given the creative freedom to curate a programme without limits. With so many artists at home, we decided to reach out to some of the top artists within our scene… and they got involved. Over the course of five weeks, we met online, for interviews, workshops and discussions with some of the most inspirational new musicians, rappers and singers whose dedication and commitment to their future created a wave of inspiration at such a challenging time.

Shout outs to all the artists that made this possible, to the team at Apple for their endless hard work and to the young artists who gave us a glimpse in to the music industry of the future. Also to @basmakhalifa for documenting and creating such a reflective and honest piece of cinematography. This tells the story perfectly.

ABOUT MADE IN LDN

This summer saw @apple and #MadeInLDN partner once again with @Mayorofldn to take young artists from across the UK through a stacked out programme of workshops, talks and educational sessions. Guided by some of the music industries most respected voices, in collaboration with Today at Apple and East London creative arts youth space @weare_spotlight we set out to bring inspiration and connection during these times of separation and isolation. From an honest and open conversation with @Aitch and his management team to a music production workshop with @SGLewis. We hosted a lyric workshop with @youngtandbugsey and learnt about songwriting with @GraceCarter.
