Made In LDN x Today At Apple

As the world stopped & lockdown paused our industry, we decided to create a programme for young artists across the U.K. to learn and to grow so once our world began to move again, they were ready to fly.

I felt so blessed to work on a project where I was given the creative freedom to curate a programme without limits. With so many artists at home, we decided to reach out to some of the top artists within our scene… and they got involved. Over the course of five weeks, we met online, for interviews, workshops and discussions with some of the most inspirational new musicians, rappers and singers whose dedication and commitment to their future created a wave of inspiration at such a challenging time.

Shout outs to all the artists that made this possible, to the team at Apple for their endless hard work and to the young artists who gave us a glimpse in to the music industry of the future. Also to @basmakhalifa for documenting and creating such a reflective and honest piece of cinematography. This tells the story perfectly.

ABOUT MADE IN LDN

This summer saw @apple and #MadeInLDN partner once again with @Mayorofldn to take young artists from across the UK through a stacked out programme of workshops, talks and educational sessions. Guided by some of the music industries most respected voices, in collaboration with Today at Apple and East London creative arts youth space @weare_spotlight we set out to bring inspiration and connection during these times of separation and isolation. From an honest and open conversation with @Aitch and his management team to a music production workshop with @SGLewis. We hosted a lyric workshop with @youngtandbugsey and learnt about songwriting with @GraceCarter.

Over the last five weeks we have met some of the most inspiring & talented new musicians. Collaborating with @weare_spotlight & @apple, we created online workshops, panel discussions & conversations with some of the music industries most trusted voices.

To work on a project like this during lockdown has been such a blessing, especially when you get to learn so much from the next generation.

Tomorrow night, the artists from the programme are performing in front of a panel of industry experts & it’s going to be live on YouTube from 6pm. Would be awesome if you could join us alongside @_kaliclaire @preyecrooks@frances_music @folatooloud & @grantmotion • Watch here: apple.co/made-in-ldn-showcase 🦋 #MusicSurvival #MadeInLDN#TodayAtApple

Throughout lockdown, I wanted to work on projects that paid it forward and meant that when things start to build again, we come out of this stronger and more resilient. Learning really is so key to that. Collaborating with Apple for Made in LDN, throughout the summer holidays I have helped to curate a virtual programme for young people across London linking with Spotlight and the Major of London.

With sessions covering everything from building your artist profile and to crafting lyrics and telling your story through video, we have brought together some of the UK’s most respected voices.
